In 2011, the TED Organization, one of the world’s most prestigious lecture circuits, invited Noel Quiñones to present his Operation Exito’s Intensive Treatment Program for schools with a history of low achievement at TEDxSanJuan.
The presentation chronicled the revitalization of a failing public school on the island of Puerto Rico. By implementing the OE Intensive Treatment Program, the only public high school in Maricao, a small town in Puerto Rico’s mountain region, obtained extraordinary results on the yearly state exams two years in a row, as evidenced in the award-winning documentary “Los17”.
The recipe for success is bringing all concerned together, providing information and motivating one and all to work towards achieving change. Operation Exito and its programs are based on the premise that schools are a community’s most important industry.
TED understood that the OE Intensive Treatment Program was an essential conference topic because of its proven results as an ingenious educational strategy that ensures school success.
